The lack of difficulty settings in favor of gradually becoming more challenging/bullshit as you go is probably one of the main pieces that doesn't "hold up" today, along with the lack of settings in general (such as the inverted camera with no option to change it). It's got some serious jank but also pretty fun a lot of the time.
